About a month ago, two employees of Plant Vostle were traveling on opposite sides of River Road when their cars collided. One was on his way to work and the other was on his way home. So the Plant Vostle employee demands safety inspection. They were traveling on River Road, which is known to be a very dangerous road. There had already been two other fatalities on this road this year.
Johnny Lee Weintraub, a 32-year old man from Georgia was killed in the crash as was his co-worker, Gregory Lewis Wingrove. Wingrove was just 28-years old at the time of the accident.
For some reason, Wingrove crossed the center lane into oncoming traffic. He crashed into Weintraub, causing fatal injuries. Both the drivers were declared dead at the scene of the crash.
There is no confirmation if either of the drivers were on the clock at the time of the crash. It happened at about 4 a.m. on the 4900 block of River Road. However, the plant may be open all day and night so there’s no telling what could have happened.
Johnny Weintraub’s father, Michael Weintraub, has petitioned the Georgia Department of Transportation to investigate the accident scene. In particular, he wants them to complete a safety inspection. There have been 4 deaths near the intersection of Collins Avenue and River Road.
Weintraub isn’t blaming anyone for the crash. And, there’s no indication yet that he intends to sue his son’s employer for workers comp death benefits. However, the investigation is still ongoing.
